Automate more of your Office 365 migration with Platform Configuration and Provisioning

With the latest release of CloudMigrator, we are introducing our new Platform Configuration and Provisioning feature so you can automate even more of your migration with ease.

When migrating to Microsoft Office 365, there are a number of common steps that are required before and during your migration. This could include creating and licencing users in the destination tenant to enabling mailbox features, such as Exchange Online Archive.

The world's leading migration tool, CloudMigrator, now allows you to automate these steps as part of the migration. By using our new Platform Configuration and Provisioning feature you can now automate the following either before your whole migration takes place or before each individual user is migrated:

Before your migration

Create Root Public Folder Mailbox

Allows you to create a Root Public Folder Mailbox if it does not already exist and assigns permissions to it. This will run at the start of your migration. This script is recommended when migrating Exchange Public Folders to Office 365.

Provision OneDrive for Business for All Licensed Users

Provision OneDrive for Business for All Licensed Users if O365 plan includes OneDrive. This will run at the start of your migration.

License and Provision OneDrive for Business for All Users

License and Provision OneDrive for Business for All Users with Full License available. The script will only process unlicensed users. You can assign licenses only to user accounts that have the UsageLocation property set. This will run at the start of your migration.

Before each user is migrated

Check User Exists and Create

Our new feature allows you to check if a Mailbox or Group exists for the User and then create if it does not. This will be run for each user at the start of their migration. Please note: new users are not guaranteed to be provisioned immediately in Office 365 and may not be available when migration for that user begins. If this is the case, the migration will fail with an error indicating that the user does not exist/could not be found.

Provision OneDrive for Business for User

Provision OneDrive for Business for User if the Office 365 plan includes OneDrive. This will be run for each user at the start of their migration.

License and Provision OneDrive for Business for User

License and Provision OneDrive for Business for User with full license available. The script will only process an unlicensed user. You can assign licenses only to user accounts that have the UsageLocation property set. This will be run for each user at the start of their migration.

License User for Exchange and Office

With this new feature you are able to automate more of your migration process, enabling you to make more of your migrations.
