PST Files, or personal storage table files, are what contain all your Microsoft items, such as email messages, calendars and contacts. As they are saved directly to the computer in which they are accessed, all PST Files need to be found before a migration can take place.
We asked one of our Technical Product Specialists to give us a quick solution to this common problem that some of our customers and partners face. Take it away Adam…
During the process of an Exchange migration to Office 365, it is often a requirement to find all the PST files that are present within your company file server.
This line of code does the trick, which can be typed directly in PowerShell ISE, in order to avoid script signing:
gci -path c:\ -recurse -include *.pst|select-object fullname,lastwritetime|export-csv c:\temp\pst.csv
You’ll just need to swap out C:\ for your file servers drive letter. In this case, the output is sent to a csv file in the c:\temp folder.
As you will see, two of the file properties are selected:
You can then use CloudMigrator 365 to migrate these directly to the customers EOA.
