Flying the Flag for the UK in Malaysia

Earlier this month, CloudMigrator were out in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as part of the UK’s first Mega Technology Mission.

CloudMigrator was one of 50 of the UK’s leading technology partners chosen to take part in the inaugural trade mission, which included a conference, a reception at the Palace of the Sultan of Selangor and a visit to Malaysia’s new tech hub in Jahore.

Organized by the UK Department for International Trade in conjunction with the Malaysian Department of International Trade, the Mega Technology Mission demonstrated the broad technology capability the UK has to the Malaysian business community.

CloudMigrator was invited to join the delegation and showcase our world-leading migration products following a competitive and rigorous selection process.

The event, which was hosted by Vicki Treadell, British High Commissioner to Malaysia, offered a great opportunity to find Malaysian business partners that we can work, collaborate and innovate with.

We also crossed over to Singapore to meet new and existing partners, separate from the trip itinerary. We shared expertise, built up through migrating over 6.5 million people to the cloud in over 57 countries, and secured a number of exciting new leads.

MD, Darren Mawhinney, commented:

“It was a great honor to be chosen to represent the UK Technology Sector on such an international platform. We were thrilled to be selected as one of the UK’s top technology companies and to be provided with the opportunity to continue our global growth.
“Our migration and management products are used in over 57 countries across the world, this was a great opportunity to share some of the insight we gained in doing this with local businesses, as well as forge new relationships with Malaysian partners. We look forward to building on these new relationships and strengthening our position in the region.”

The UK’s first Mega Technology Mission with the Department of International Trade took place from 9th to 11th October in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
