Managing Director Darren Mawhinney took part in a roundtable event on exports on 30th November 2017 in Belfast.
The event was organized by Insider Media and involved a group of 12 top exporting companies to discuss challenges that export companies face and solutions for overcoming these.
Topics that were discussed include the challenges of exporting (marketing, contacts, funding), export trade finance and the impact of Brexit and the export opportunities it may create.
Darren shared insights on exporting including those gained from migrating over 6.6m people to the cloud in 57 countries. He also acts as an advisor to numerous organizations, helping to shape and influence their exporting strategies throughout the world.
He has a particular interest in promoting exporting in a digital world where local companies can sell globally with little additional investment. He has also co-authored the Export Orientation Manual for First-time Exporters making him ideal for this export roundtable.
Philip Cunliffe, Regional Business Editor of Insider chaired the roundtable which was attended by managing directors, financial controllers and CEOs of top Northern Ireland exporting companies.
The event followed a survey Insider ran with UK Export Finance which asked a series questions of exporters on various issues. In the wake of the survey they are now running a series of roundtable events up and down the UK to get more regional perspectives.
Insider gathered a group of 12 exporting companies which are based in and around Belfast to discuss some of the issues that the survey exposed and to establish solutions to some of the challenges that exporting businesses face today.
